AIGAC 2010 Conference - June 16-18, 2010

Location: Cambridge, MA

It is with great pleasure that we announce the 2010 Annual Conference for the Association of International Graduate Admissions Consultants (AIGAC). This year's conference will be held June 16-18 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Our goals for the conference are simple yet bold: to raise awareness of global best practices among the members of our community, to promote greater participation in international dialogue and exchange among our consultants, and to continue to build AIGAC's knowledge sharing with graduate programs, nationally and internationally.

The focus of this year's conference will be on graduate admissions and career planning in difficult economic times, a concern we've been hearing from many applicants as they decide whether to invest in graduate school.

MIT Sloan will be hosting us for our conference on Wednesday (June 16th) and Thursday (June 17th), and Harvard Business School will be hosting us on Friday morning (June 18th).

We have already confirmed presentations by admissions officers from:

Along with Slover Linett, we will also be presenting the results of our 2010 AIGAC MBA Applicant Survey.

Please note that the 2010 conference is open to AIGAC members only.

"Business leaders constantly surround themselves with skilled advisors in order to make the best decisions. While the decisions are ultimately theirs, the process of bouncing ideas and talking through problems is tremendously valuable. The same is true in the admissions process where candidates may need guidance in exploring career options, identifying appropriate programs and determining the best way to position their candidacy. An organization like AIGAC assures both schools and candidates that there are industry standards in place and consulting firms linked to this organization are following ethical practices. It also opens the door for sharing best practices within the counseling industry and for closer engagement between the counselors and the schools." - Rosemaria Martinelli, Associate Dean for Student Recruitment and Admissions, University of Chicago Graduate School of Business
